Dedicated to Hindu god – Lord Murugan, this temple is believed to have been built in the 1930s. The temple was christened after a purplish-blue flower called Kurinji that blossoms in these valleys once in every 12 years.

It is situated on top of the hill and displays the colloquial Dravidian architectural style. From here you can see tiny villages on Palani Hills and a stretch of carrot plantations on the terraced slopes.

It is reachable via a 10-minute drive from the centre of Kodaikanal town. You can take an auto-rickshaw, public bus or taxi.
